The match was an "edge of your seat"  free for all, with both squads punching and counter punching their way through 5 games and nearly two and a half hours of thrilling volleyball action.

The Lady Bears fought hard, but could not put away the Retrievers, as UMBC bounced back to capture the match after falling behind 2 games to 1.

Morgan State got out of the gate quickly, as they captured Game 1 (30-21).  Morgan out hit and out blocked the visitors on their way to the win in the first game.  However, in Game 2 UMBC responded.  They served extremely well in the 2nd game and took MSU out of their offense on their way to a 30-24 win.

Game 4 was dominated by UMBC and they put away the Lady Bears 30-19.

In the 5th and deciding game, both teams had their chances.  Morgan State held a 13-11 lead, and appeared to be on the verge of pulling out the victory.  However, UMBC fought back and scored the last four points of the match to pull it out 15-13.
